THE FINAL BLISS OF GLITZ AFRICAN FASHION WEEK

The Glitz Africa fashion week has come and gone leaving the wild memories in our minds as creative designers flew in from all over the world to make the event a memorable one which they did as Great designers like Ambassador, Mai Atofo, Modela, Farrah, Kofi Ansah and lots more showcased fashion from a different angel, using drama, siga, and dance to send a message to the wonderful audience, it was really 3 days of great event..... A true Ghanaian hospitality showcased from day one through two and three. The Accra International Conference Center brought beautiful faces to witness creativity, among them were, Chief Dele Momodu of Ovation International, Ayoade and Theresa of Charter House, KKD, Juliet Ibrahim, Lexy Mojo Eyes of Legendary Gold Limited, Miss Malaika finalists, Wanlov Kubolor, Eazzy, et al. Little did we know that the night was just getting set for the excitement . Talking about drama, it all started with Farrah from India whose spicing came with a beautiful choreographed display, then entered the purest of fabrics to the glorification of the pride of India. Diva Delicious came knocking with awesome and impressive styles. Immediately, it was time for Ambassador Couture from Nigeria to showcase his collections, and with drama did he introduce himself. Cigarette smoking and newspaper reading beautified his collections. Wana Elle Couture, Ohema Ohene and Gilles Toure all did fantastically well on a smooth tone. Then Mai Atafo inspired from Nigeria raised the roof with heightened drama signaling that the business of designing isn’t all about sewing, but creativity plays a larger role. The whole night came to a standstill when the veteran Kofi Ansah sent forth his models all in ‘sweet’ dedicated designs to the late President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills. With open arms were they received by the audience, who couldn’t stop applauding. After the runway show was over, it was time to award impressive personalities, and Mina Evans took home the Emerging Designer, Zion Benjamin and Doris Asumani grabbed the Male and Female Models of the Year respectively. Mai Atafo claimed the bragging rights and went home with the Designer of the Year, while Sa4a Designers took away the CHIVAS Luxury Male Design Awards, then the top of the bill award – Life Time Award went to Kofi Ansah. With the previous days serving as mere warm ups, this event truly brought out the finest of designers, models and audience across Ghana on one platform. From the stage, to the environment and caliber of designers that showcased on all three days, and though the audience did toil with starting time which for some reasons we shall wink; it is proper to tell it all that Sunday was a beautiful way to climax the whole event. At last, Glitz Africa Fashion Week redeemed the oozing vibes in the fashion industry in Ghana, and thus, created that ‘happy ending story’ smiles and acknowledgment from everyone that graced the show from start to finish. lets do this again 2013, it will be mind blowing....
